A Direct Writer represents only one insurance company. He is frequently
an employee of that company. If he cannot serve your needs, he has no where to turn. In a
dispute with his insurance company, he is compelled to side with the company.
An
Independent Agent may represent as many companies as he feels necessary to serve his
clients. He owns his own business and has the right to move it to a different company if
he chooses. In a dispute with the company, he is bound to represent your interests first.
Insurance Associates of Iowa City is an Independent Insurance
Agency.
